BLURRED IS MY CURRENT STATE -(a teen’s view)

My ears are ringing,

Excuse Me, what were you saying?,

What do I want to become?, sigh…

Can I tell you the truth or do you prefer a lie?

My mind is a blur,

“Which options are you taking dear?,”

“Higher Maths, Triple Science, Economics are a few …”

“Oh, NOT THOSE!”.” Then what in the world will you do?”

To drive, To vote, I must be EIGHTEEN,

But my future I must decide when I am FOURTEEN,

“Career Counselling, The Great Options Fair, will guide you through…”

“Not to forget… your marks at thirteen will play a huge role too!”

“Poor child, so confused..her whole life is a blur“,

“Passion, Ambition, Goals, do you feel a stir?”,

Yes, a rumbling deep down in my stomach’s pit,

I think I’ll simply do what my parents deem fit!

“So, what are your options again?”,

Confidence, composure, clarity , I must feign,

“Media, Design Technology, Computer Science, History”, loud and clear,

“That sounds great. Your success seems sure near”.

Now that everybody else is so sure,

No more nagging questions,I need endure.

I can go back to enjoying the rest of school,

For I know I’ll find my way,one day, just not now and that’s cool!
