Have always loved nature and just can’t seem to get enough of it.
The air so crisp and pure,
The whiff of wet soil, a soothing cure,
The sky now clear, a sprawling blue,
Looks down on earth, a cleaner hue.
The pavement’s strewn with fallen leaves,
Red, green, yellow and brown sheaves,
A puddle here and another one there,
Passing cars dash, Beware!
Children in rain shoes, splash in rapturous glee,
Thirsty birds swoop down for muddy tea,
The trees, all bathed, a glossy sheen,
Roads and panes washed spotless clean…
I watch it all and ruminate,
A reality that determines our fate,
Here an arid land enjoys heavy rains,
While far beyond, a land from water drains,
Global Warming , Climate Change,
A bitter truth in our vision’s range,
A looming danger, we turn a blind eye,
Sigh!
Wake up before it’s too late,
Do something now or watch it all – dissipate!
Little steps, each one take,
Big changes, will surely make!
P.S. Please don’t read this poem and forget about it.
Would love to hear from you those little changes you have made in your life, to save our planet…We really need to pay attention to what it’s telling us; if not we will lose her (nature) and lose ourselves in the process. It’s just not enough talking about global warming anymore. Collectively and individually, we need to take steps in our own little ways to save what’s left.
