NaPoWriMo : Day 18 -I Come from a Land that’s Bifferent!

National Poetry Writing Challenge- Day 18 to write a poem that incorporates neologisms. What’s that? Well, it’s a made-up word. It could be a word made from joining two words (portmanteaus) like “motel” from motor and hotel or words that have been invented entirely for their sound.

My neologisms are:  a) Bifferent- beautifully different,  b) Cifferent- culturally different, c) Rifferent – Royally Different

Here’s my poem for today based on the above neologism

India_SMALL

I come from a land that’s bifferent,

A land of snake charmers, a land of  farmers,

Where festivals there are, a hundred odd,

And every man has, his own God,

A land of dances diverse, music miscellaneous, A land bifferent.

I come from a land where a billion souls so cifferent,

A land of teachers (gurus), A land of preachers (sadhus),

Where a thousand divergent tongues, come together as one,

Where the young respect the old and where man worships the sun,

A land of superstitions galore, A land of teeming folklore, a land cifferent.

I come from a land of patriots and monarchs rifferent,

A land of colors bright, A land which reveres the white,

Where exalted cows amble on the street, where bedecked elephants stop for a treat,

Where family occupies the highest seat and where neighbors aren’t afraid to greet,

A land of traditions numerous, A land of  a past so copious, A land unique, rifferent.

I come from a land that is bifferent, bifferent from all,

A land cifferent, that stands strong and tall,

A land rifferent, that rose after a fall,

I come from a land that’s bifferent, bifferent from all.

  3. […] This road was different, not because it was the road on which Shahrukh Khan cycled on, in the movie “Dear Zindagi”, but because it was ‘bifferent‘ (beautifully different- a word coined by me during the Naporimo Poetry challenge NaPoWriMo : Day 18 -I Come from a Land that’s Bifferent!). Really a good one with madeup words as poetically as a honey drop.
