Today’s prompt was spicy. Here’s my take on it.

I have a story for you today,

One that’s sweet and a little spicy too,

One that will make your eyes water,

One that will make your heart beat faster.

 
A story of highs, a story of lows,

One that has joy and a little pain too,

One that will make you weak but leave you stronger,

One that will make you fail but leave you wiser.

 
A story you may have heard before,

But a story you have forgotten, of that I am sure,

So I’ll tell you again, listen near and listen clear,

Don’t forget to smile and don’t hold back a tear.

 

A story of survival, a story of courage,

Of a man, of any man*, could be you too,

Of the unknown future, of love, of hope and strife,

Of the most precious gift of LIFE…

 

A story of moments, some sweet, some bitter,

Of journeys taken and hurdles crossed, of dreams and fears too,

Of memories, some to be savored and some forgotten,

Of a life lived, of battles lost and won.

 

Every “life” is a story of it’s own- special and precious. Make it beautiful and worth it because you get just one life. Don’t let life’s downs stop getting  you to the ups.
