Wrote a Sedoka as part for the Carpe-diem#1251 challenge on the picture given below “Bluebells at sunset” by Inguna Plume. A Sedoka is a form of Japanese poetry which has 2 three-line katauta with the 5-7-7 syllable count. It is a single unrhymed poem that may address a subject from different perspectives.

What color art thou?
Purple, indigo, violet-
Painted or a splatter of ink…
What hand gently drew?
Dainty, drooping curves that breathe-
Tenderly sway in the breeze…
Carpe Diem Haiku Kai is the place to be if you like to write and share haiku, tanka or other Japanese poetry forms such as choka and kikobun. It’s a warmhearted family of haiku poets created by Chèvrefeuille, a Dutch haiku poet. Japanese poetry is the poetry of nature and it gives an impression of a moment as short as the sound of a pebble thrown into water.
