NaPoWriMo 2018 : Day 1 – Me and It(A Forever-kind-of-love story)

Today’s prompt is  to write a poem in the form of a love letter . . . to an object. Ideally, the poem will be a kind of riddle, where it’s not totally obvious that the addressee is your beloved childhood pogo stick, or a dish of pad thai from your favorite restaurant, until near the end.  A great opportunity to play with some of the clichés and tropes of love poetry.

Below is my poem… Guess “IT”

It

Dear Love,

As I write this letter, I feel a flutter,

My heart dictates, without a stutter,

My mind is clear, not an ounce of doubt,

I wish to proclaim, I wish to shout,

My love for you, pure and true

Ages old, still feels so new…

You’re one of a kind, you’re my lucky charm,

My most precious find, the one I run to, in alarm,

My tresses long, you gently caress,

The wild, fiery ones, you firmly suppress,

At times you tug, at times you pull and make me frown,

In dark luscious cascades, I see you drown…

You make your way past the maze, the labyrinth of tangle,

Your teeth digging in, you part, you wrangle,

Unraveling, Untangling,

Sliding and gliding,

You emerge unscathed, the tumbled mass tamed,

You- my victor unnamed.

You give me reason to smile, every day and every night,

Ne’er giving up, ne’er losing sight,

The waves now fall, smooth, soft like silken lace,

Kiss my cheeks, brush my shoulders, and adorn my face,

Makes heads turn, the gloss, the sheen – my crowning glory,

Thanks to you, my love, the super-hero of my story…

Thank you…When everybody else was writing about their diaries, I was the odd one writing about a hair brush :). I’m glad you liked it.

😊😘. I know what you mean. I have the same problem with my laptop. So next time when you get simple smileys, then you know I’m using my laptop.😊
