A writer’s lament

words

Oh! They torment me so

these words –

that fly before my eyes, like birds

the din they create -flapping

their sturdy wing

As I watch- away they go

They swim before my weary eyes

Alphabets garbled –  they watch me struggle

Writhing in pain; I wriggle

To keep afloat

While they, mute, observe my sinking boat

But they do not yield or drop their guise

All I want, is to weave a story –

Or string a verse

Is this then, not a dreadful curse

That they turn away

And do not stay

Unfeeling Words- Oh! They show no mercy.

Quite a relatable post. This made me chuckle, As you rightly said, we see a lot of words, but they seldom come to us when we need them.. 😛
