Lockdown Diaries – Art – Places I wish to go

Hello everybody,

I hope you’re doing fine. Its been raining all day yesterday and today I woke up to the sound of the rains for a second day. The sound of the rains reminds me of my grandmother’s home – dark skies, a constant buzz like crackling fire as the drops hit the ground. With the lockdown stretched up to the end of July I have been travelling places through my paintings.

Here is what I did as part of my pen and wash attempts to improve my skill-

This place has been on my bucket list since 2017. My sister and I were supposed to travel together – it would be our real first international holiday together. We were pretty excited about it – my teenage girls’ even started planning their wardrobe. I even went on a healthy diet just so I look good in the pictures against the backdrop of white sand beaches and blue waters. But neither were successful – either the diet or the trip for various reasons. And so it continues to be unticked on my bucket list.

Looking at the picture can you identify which place it is? If you can, it will tell me my sketching is improving. Have you visited the place or is it on your bucket list too?

Cheers,

travel

I love the Greek Islands and I’ve been to many, although not Santorini. Beautiful.

I can only imagine how beautiful the place must be- the food and the people. Thank you Chris for stopping by and your kind appreciation. Its nice to have someone who’s actually visited Greece appreciate the artwork.

This looks like Santorini to me..!!
Greece is a lovely country and I would love to visit it, though this place is not on my list.. Though if you want good beaches, you will be spoilt for choices – Greece has thousands of great and picturesque beaches which may take even a lifetime to explore fully.. 😊😊
I hope your sister and you visit Greece and have a good time soon.. The borders are opening.. 😊😊
    Stay safe, Madam..!! 😊😊

Absolutely Abirbhav 🙂 As of now, even if I can go to South Mumbai, I’ll be happy 🙂 waiting for the lockdown to end. You take care too and stay safe. Thank you for identifying the place. It certainly gives me confidence to paint more.

I am so happy for the little dose of “confidence booster”, though for someone as talented as you, those boosters are not required at all.. 😊😊
As I said earlier, I love your paintings and many of them look surprisingly real.. 😊😊
Now coming to lockdown. Hiranandani itself has so many well maintained roads (akin to CHD, though CHD is a class apart) and gardens.. Why unnecessarily go to a crowded nightmarish place like SoBo? I am currently in Noida, which is quite green and clean with a better weather, so walking a few times a day helps relax a bit.. 😊😊
Thank you so much Madam.. 😊😊 You too take care and be safe..!! Eager to see the next place which you would cover through your beautiful painting.. 😊😊

Thats nice to know you were able to go to Noida. I just said SOBO metaphorically as in you know not being to travel next door. Powai is a blessing. I feel grateful to be here every single day…love the green and absence of a crowd. There are enough lanes to walk in without getting bored.
The lockdown is definitely providing me an opportunity to paint…especially slow-starter me who waited 1 and a half months after the lockdown to pick up the brush🙂. Thank you for appreciating the paintings. Its satisfying.
