Lockdown diaries : Places I wish to see

I woke up today realizing that it’s been a long time- a week or more approximately since I shared my art. And so this post is a way to reconnect, to say ‘Hi’ and tell you all is well at my end and I hope the same is with you. While I began the lockdown working at art and writing occasionally, five months down the line, I feel my batteries need recharging. Here, in Mumbai, though things are opening up, they’re still slow. And I suppose that will continue to be the case as long as schools and offices continue to work from home. While I thought I was drained because we couldn’t dine out or we weren’t ordering food from outside, I realized that was not the case. What I really am missing is travelling- experiencing new cultures, discovering new places, trying out new cuisines and meeting new people. And while that cannot happen now, I continue to paint places that I’d like to visit. Here is the one I did a week ago-

I have done the painting using acrylics and used Leonid Afremov’s style of painting. Only I did not use the knife. The painting is done based on a painting on pinterest by the artist.

Let me know if you can recognize the place and of-course what you think of the painting. 🙂

I love your vibrant colors in this! Nice aerial perspective in those distant buildings, it helps to draw the eye into the scene.

I think that a lot of artists have resorted to being armchair travellers for a while. Thankfully, it’s easy to find pictures of all the faraway places we hoped to visit. As for me, I had my fill of mostly domestic air travel as a business consultant, and I don’t miss airports at all. I did renew my passport because maybe there are a few travels left for me someday.

Thank you so much. So true, there are so many beautiful places and pictures to paint from that choosing becomes tough at times.
I cant imagine a job which required me to travel a lot. I dont think I’d enjoy it. I like travelling for fun not on work😀. So I totally understand you not wanting to go around for a bit.
