Standing by the bay
We gaze out as night meets day
a kind of touch-and- go
Like the waves that kiss the shore
And there are those few beats
when orange-red melts
into cool blue
A splash of brilliant crimson-mauve hue
I wish it would last forever;
So perfectly blended together
Those few moments
I watch hopeful; not long before my heart laments
For that which cannot be
I watch the waves retreat into the sea
And crimson-mauve turn to grey
Day glides away
Leaving night to fend on its own and we
Go back to become you and me
