
It’s supposed to be ‘wordless’ but not explaining the picture and the caption would not be fair to the iconic structures in the photograph. The ‘Taj’ hotel was attacked on 26th November 2008 and resumed operations on 21st December 2008, true to the undying spirit of the city. The hotel was under siege for 4 days until the 29th November. It was the prime target of terrorists who entered India from Pakistan by crossing the Arabian Sea. 31 people died and 28 were hurt. Of those who died, 11 were hotel employees. The hotel received great praise after the attack for the dedication of the employees. The ‘Organization Culture,’ of the hotel was reviewed by Harvard University post the attack. A total of 166 people across the city and 9 terrorists lost their lives due to the attack. The tenth terrorist who was a Pakistani, was hung in May 2010. The attack is remembered as 26/11. A fortnight from today, it will be twelve years since the ghastly assault.
