I finally picked up my brush again after one and a half months. And since I’m not a trained artist, every time there is a gap, I am filled with dread – with art I’m never quite sure if it’s going to work or not. After an earlier failed attempt at painting flowers, I decided to do a winter scene. I finished the watercolor painting in an hour’s time after sunset and this was the result. The next morning when the sun’s rays fell on it, I realized that something was lacking.

I framed and hung it on the wall.

The next morning when the sun’s rays fell on it, I felt something was missing. So, I reworked on the painting.

And then I worked on it some more and this is the final result. The painting is inspired by Solodov Nikolay’s painting – ‘Winter at sunset in Dolgoprudny’

Though the painting turned out quite well, I realize if I am to feel comfortable with art, I will have to work very hard and allow myself to make mistakes. The latter is something that I’m struggling with.
P.S. I’m working on another painting with flowers. I hope it turns out ok.
