Art: Around the corner

It’s been quite some time since I did a watercolor painting and if I don’t do watercolors for long, I tend to lose whatever confidence I gained doing it. Its a vicious cycle that I tend to get sucked into. After doing two acrylic paintings (because the canvases had been lying around for long), I finally decided to do a watercolor. And that too based on a photograph- my first attempt. A friend of mine sent me a photograph of Montenegro, Budva and told me that she thought it was the kind of picture that I would paint. I loved the faith she placed in me and so I got down to attempting it.

Here’s the painting

‘Around the corner’ – a watercolor painting on A4 size sheet

Montenegro! We used to be in Yugoslavia together but I was never there. 🙂 When I saw the photo I thought that India looked a lot like Italy. 😀 I love the painting too, especially the blossoms.

Ah really…that’s so sad that you didn’t get to visit the place but it does seem so similar to the pictures you post.
Lol… if India was like this, I would not long to visit Italy again. There are some beautiful places in India but the architecture in Italy or this pictures are very typical to Europe, I think.

We have corners where the flowers hang overhead but not where everything comes together like this😀

This is a difficult picture to copy, Smitha, so much detail. You’ve done a good job with it.

Thank you so, so much Kamal. I’m so happy you think so. I wasn’t sure of trying it out at first. But I’m glad I did.
