Today’s prompt is to write in a specific form – the nonet! A nonet has nine lines. The first line has nine syllables, the second has eight, and so on until you get to the last line, which has just one syllable.
I wrote two nonets on the subject. I wasn’t sure which sounded better, so, I shared both, last evening. A big thanks to those who helped me decide which was better. I’m pasting the other one below the post as a reminder that I can depend on you to help me when I’m confused (or the comments on this post will leave me wondering in future what the deleted one was.)
My poem for today- The Gift
He told her she should value money So, she spent wisely and never indulged. Then, one day, she bought herself a cashmere, with money he left her - she said, it was his parting gift, to her. Copyright@smithavishwanathsblog.com. All Rights Reserved.
The deleted one
Deleted---kept only for record. Not meant to be read! He told her she should value money So, she spent wisely and never indulged. Then, one day, she bought herself a cashmere, with the money he left her; certain, he'd want for her to have it.
