Published: Ye Birds on my Window sill

I know I’m supposed to be sharing the poetry I wrote during April but, today, I’m taking a break and sharing a poem that’s close to my heart and that got published by SpillWords Press yesterday.
Here’s the link to the poem. And here’s one stanza ( it’s not about birds, so do read to find out 🙂 ). Please click on the heart in the link, if you like the poem and do let me know what you think by commenting here.

I ask of ye birds
That visit me daily
Ye who I have fed every meal
O’er days, months and years
I plead with thee…

As for my blog, you would have noticed a change in the look. Well, after three days of constant calls with WordPress Support, I did manage to set it up and I think it’s working fine. However, I would appreciate you letting me know if there’s anything that’s not working (if you happen to stumble upon it), so, I can fix it. Thank you for reading and bearing with my blog troubles. Have a wonderful day!

A mother’s yearning seeking the help of her feathered friend to reach across to her loved ones living across the seas. Maybe an innate desire to be able to fly herself, to be a bird, to be free from the shackles holding her down. Beautifully expressed.

Beautiful Smitha. Reminded me of the days of pigeons being carriers. Also made me think of the lovely lyrics of Javed Akhtar. Panchi nadiya hawa ke jhonke, koi sarhad na inhe roke. Ache and longing beautifully depicted.

Oh my,Sonia, you made my day by saying that this poem reminded you of Javed Akhtar’s timeless classic. I wrote this when my daughter left for Uni. Thank you for making this even more precious.

I am glad your site is fixed – for the past few days, I could read and like your posts but could not comment on it, they won’t get posted. You do know I enjoyed reading though 🙂

Thank you, dear Pragalbha. Trust me, it was a nightmare fixing it from scratch. The only sad bit is I lost comments on poems for day 29 and 30. But, I’m glad I got rid of wp-discuz in time. Thank you for coming back to check ,even when you couldn’t comment. It means the world to me🙂💕.

I have found that support from friends and family tends to drop off. That’s why I like blogging, you meet real poetry lovers.

Thanks Robbie for sharing your experience with friends and family. I feel much better. Yes, it makes sense to share it with those who appreciate poetry and writing and that’s here. Thank you🧡.
