This is a terrific post, Smitha. The doors are wonderful. I am particularly taken with the Banteay Srei temple. Astonishing!
Amazing images! A trip to Angkor Wat is on my bucket list. It looks like a fascinating place to explore.

Hi Darlene, I’m so glad to hear you say that. I figured they deserved a, post of their own.
Oh yes, there’s a lot of history, politics, religion in those doors. They changed many hands and went through a lot of destruction because of the different faiths of those who ruled, yet, they stand.
Wonderful all door!
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
So beautiful and intricate.
Hi Andrea, I’m glad you liked the photos. These doorways belong to the 10th to 12th century and are still standing. It’s amazing.

Thank you so much, Sadje. It’s amazing how they covered every inch of the walls with carving. The parts that seen blank are only because of the forces of nature.
You’re welcome. These relics of the past remind us of the commitment of those people
You’re so right, Sadje. They did all of this with bare hands and basic tools.
