I’m participating in Thursday Doors, after a really long time. Thursday Doors is a challenge hosted by Dan Antion for people who love doors and architecture to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos, drawings, or other images or stories from around the world.
I took these pictures of doors during during my short trip to Kerala. You can read all about the trip here if you like.

I was taking a picture of this door when my father-in-law asked me what I was doing. I told him I needed a picture of the door for my blog and he said, ‘Why don’t you take a picture of our door?’ I had to explain to him that I had already posted our door a long time ago and this was a challenge that happened every week for which I needed new pictures of doors. I could see he didn’t really get why I needed to take pictures of neighbours’ doors and wasn’t too comfortable with me taking the pictures of other’s doors. So, this is the only one I got.

I’m also particiapating in the Stream of Consciousness Saturday challenge hosted by Linda. The prompt for this week is, “mouse.”
Last weekend, a school friend of mine came over from Canada. She asked a few of us if we could meet for a quick catchup. Someone suggested, ‘The White Room Kitchen and Coffee,’ a cute place that I hadn’t visited. However, another friend said she had seen a mouse scurrying along when she’d gone there last. So, ‘The White Room Kitchen and Coffee’ was dropped just like that.
Talking about a mouse, when I first saw the prompt, I wondered what I’d write about. Funnily enough, I began readingHarper Lee’s ‘How to kill a Mockingbird’ today, and there was a passage on a mouse. I wouldn’t have noticed it, if not for the prompt. I’m certain anybody who’s read the book has never given the passage a second thought. But here it is. In fact, here are two excerpts talking about ‘mice’, ‘mouse’ in the thirty pages I’ve read.
By the time Mrs Cat called the drugstore for an order of chocolate malted mice, the class was wriggling like a bucketful of catawba worms.
I looked up to see Miss Caroline standing in the middle of the room sheer horror flooding her face…’It’s alive!’ she screamed.
The male population of the class rushed as one to her assistance. Lord, I thought, she’s scared of a mouse.’ pg 28
I suppose that’s enough of ‘mouse’ to satisfy the SoCS prompt.
Here’s a poem I wrote on a bird I spotted during my trip to Kerala

Visitor A crow- pheasant: rust-red wings, sweeping black tail that flowed like a veil hopped on the drive. I swung into action to capture it with my lens Alas! All but his beady red eyes For when I went near He flew up into the mango tree And hid amidst its branches and leaves. I craned my head up to see, heard the leaves rustle and then some more And as I watched tiny brown mango blooms rained upon me A gift by this morning visitor. That's all from my side. Here's wishing all of you a lovely weekend. ____________________________________________________________________
