PAUSE!

In today’s fast paced life, pausing has never been more important. Pause to help somebody on the way. Pause to appreciate the miracle of life. Pause before you turn your back and walk away. Pause before you break all that you gave your life to build. Pause before you spew hatred. Pause before you click the “send” button and reply in anger to a colleague, friend or family. Pause, Breathe, Listen to your conscience. Sleep over it and maybe when you wake up, it won’t seem so bad.

Pray, PAUSE!

Wrote this prompt using the Lai format. The Lai is another French form. It’s a nine-line poem or stanza that uses an “a” and “b” rhyme following this pattern :aabaabaab. The lines with an “A” rhyme use 5 syllables, the “b” rhyme lines have 2 syllables.

pause

There’s no need to fret,

Every action vet,

Pray, PAUSE!

Your EGO, don’t pet,

And later regret,

Pray, PAUSE!

Conscience, a good bet,

Your life, better set,

Pray, PAUSE!
