Never Before

I have never before

Wished more

To be a bird atop a tree

Free

To roam where I please

and not be afraid of a cough or a sneeze

I have never before

craved more

For human interaction

some good old face to face conversation

Of places, people – things we do

with somebody anybody new

I have never before

valued more

The freedom to breathe without fear

To allow someone near

A hug a handshake

without worrying my life is at stake

I have never before

wanted it more

I understand perfectly, Smitha. Our weekend away was stressful because of the C-19 precautions and the fact that it is constantly on your mind.

  I saw your pictures. The place looked exotic. I can imagine. Yet hopefully, the break away was refreshing. Sadly, we need to live in constant fear and its tiresome. Unfortunately, you cant even behave like it doesn’t exist or it gets better if you’re braver. We need to be careful all the time.

  Thanks Jude for reading. The lockdown is testing. There seems to be no ending in sight. We are all in the same boat, it seems. Dont like to say, ‘so glad you could relate.’ I wish we could go back to living normal lives.
