Thursday Doors 2

Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world.

I have never seen doors like those in Bali elsewhere. The doors are made of teakwood or jackfruit wood and are elaborately carved. In the temples, the carvings are decorated with gold. The doors reflect the wealth of the house. The bigger, the more ornately carved doors indicate richer folk.

Here I attach a few of the pictures I had taken during my trip (when I had no idea I would be participating in ‘Thursday doors.’) You can see for yourself how the doors are so unique to this country.

And here are some more
