ART : FLOW

It feels like a long time since I wrote a post. Since I’m kind of tied up with something else (which I will share with you in a few days time), I’ll share one of my paintings to break the ice and get going.

Here’s my painting ‘Flow’ – a reminder to flow like water, no matter what comes your way.

‘I had been meaning to do a waterfall painting since a long time. With my confidence in watercolors ebbing, this felt like a good place to start’ – this is what I wrote on 5/3/21 when I shared the painting on my Instagram page. While acrylics are far more easier to handle than watercolors, there’s something about the latter that lures me in. So, despite being filled with dread and trepidation every time I begin a watercolor painting, I simply cannot stop going back to it. I’m waiting for the day I feel totally desensitized and can simply enjoy the process and the medium. Until then as psychologists advise, I must simply continue exposing myself to the medium.

The painting is done using watercolors, on a A4 size watercolor paper.

I know that watercolours are hard to use and water is hard to paint, so this must have been doubly difficult. But it is lovely, so well done!

Thank you so much Andrea. Everytime I start a watercolor painting, I get edgy 🙂

Lovely cool water flowing through the green woods! It reminds me of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.

Thank you so much Jo. I Googled the Great Smoky mountains and it looked exactly the same.Thank you so much for letting me know. I kept wondering where this waterfall was. I’m going to add a photograph from the net of the smoky mountain waterfall to this post.

Another lovely one, Smitha. I’m so jealous of your work ethic. I wonder if I’ll ever get my act together. I love the sentiment. Flow like water. I could use that advice.

Thank you so much dear Lynn 🙂😘. It’s a phase and it will pass. You have so much going on. You’re doing a great job juggling it all. I’m trying to keep my head above water. With the lockdown still continuing here, this is my only way to let out steam. Hugs to you Lynn.
