The news came as a pleasant surprise via email and it’s all thanks to you, who not only read my work but took the trouble of liking it on SpillWords. Now, it’s time to cast your vote for ‘Author of the Month’ . The voting opens on 26th May 12.00 a.m EST and remains open for 4 days. The winning depends on a number of factors, one of which is to get the maximum number of votes. Just click on the link – login with Fb or gmail- click the three horizontal bars on the top left-hand corner of the screen (menu) – click on ‘Vote’ which is the last option on the menu – you get a list of nominees- cast your vote and wait for the message ‘Thank you for voting’. If it does not come or you close the box before it comes, the vote does not get registered. Another easy way of doing it is sending an email to with the name of the person want to vote for. If it’s me, then you need to say, ‘SmithaV’.

If the above steps seem tiresome, I understand. Don’t beat yourself thinking you aren’t tech-savvy. It is quite cumbersome. However, if you take the trouble of voting, please know that I greatly appreciate it.

1. Authors are nominated based on this Weighted Guideline:
   55% Website Readership Popularity
   20% Monthly Publications
   15% Social Media Impressions
   10% Overall User Activity (Website and Social Media Engagement)
2. The voting will begin on the 26th of each month at 12:00am Easter Time
3. The voting will last for 4 Days
4. Authors and Members will have the opportunity to VOTE 1 time per registered user
5. Users have to be logged in to be able to vote
6. The Winner will be announced soon after the voting has been completed
7. The Winner will be featured on the sidebar of Spillwords.com during the entire following month
