I am thrilled to share the news that I got voted ‘Author of the month’ for January and February by Spillwords Press. I found out this morning, and the first thought that went through my head was, ‘ There is a God, and He works miracles.’
I want to thank Spillwords for this tremendous honour. I fall short of words to express my gratitude for the opportunity they provide to writers and poets alike and for the boost they give through recognitions such as these. It is especially essential as writing is a solitary journey that, unlike other occupations, is not financially rewarding unless one makes a breakthrough in the literary world. And yet, writers carry on toiling hard; because it is the only way they know to survive.
This news comes just before the release of my debut novel, ‘Coming Home’ . Being voted ‘Author of the month’ means my author bio will appear as a side widget on the front page for the entire month of March. It’s pretty cool, and I’d like to thank everyone who made this happen by voting for me. I feel loved; it’s a fantastic feeling :). It takes time to vote, and the site’s log-in requirement can be a pain. The fact that some people took the trouble to do it for me warms my heart beyond words. Thank you again for reading my work- not just on Spillwords but otherwise, and for appreciating it – it’s helped me more than you know.
