NaPoWriMo: Day 9 – Confused

Day 9 of the National Poetry Writing challenge was to write a 9 line poem. I chose to write following the French version which is the Lai. The Lai and Virelai follows 5 syllable couplets a, a, separated by a 2 syllable line b.

I got home late from work today and I just couldn’t give up on the challenge. Just not yet!So this is what I wrote. Explains how I feel on the 9th day of the challenge.

I am so confused,

My mind’s overused,

Oh dear!

My brain is fused,

Can I be excused?

Oh dear!

My genius abused,

I feel like I boozed,

Oh dear!
