When the going gets tough,
And the journey is rough,
I Shall not succumb.
When all people desert me,
And poke fun and question my integrity,
I Shall not succumb.
When every road I take, ends in failure,
And time and again, they doubt my behavior,
I Shall not succumb.
When hope knocks me a punch,
And of what lies in store, I have no hunch
I Shall not succumb.
I Will guard my Faith, for a better ‘morrow,
Strength, from the Heavens’ I will beg for and borrow,
I Shall not succumb.
I will plead, I will pray that one day He shall see,
And look down upon me and shower His mercy,
I Shall not succumb.
I will wake up every new morn and strive again,
Today may be that day, when His blessings will rain,
I believe, I wait, I Shall not succumb.
Many a times, life does not seem fair and the world seems to close in on you. Many a times you feel that you are the chosen one, the chosen one to face every adversity, to prove yourself again and again. Many a times you feel that no matter how hard you work or what you do, success is as far from you as the horizon. Don’t give up. Get up, Smile and begin again. Nothing is permanent- not even failure.
